Skills That Last a Lifetime.
Careers That Begin With Training.

The LG-CSR Retail Trainees Skill Training Programme: equipping India’s youth with the retail knowledge, customer service skills, and professional confidence to build lasting careers, with SARAS as the implementation partner.

INTRODUCTION

Skill development is not just a policy priority, it is a life-changing intervention for the millions of young Indians entering the workforce each year, often without the practical knowledge employers are looking for. The LG Electronics Skill Development Project addresses exactly this gap: connecting youth with structured, industry-aligned training that leads to real jobs in the retail and customer service sector.

Implemented in collaboration between LG Electronics India Ltd. and SARAS, the LG CSR Retail Trainees Skill Training Programme is designed to prepare candidates for careers in retail operations, customer handling, and professional workplace environments, while providing comprehensive support through assessment, certification, and placement assistance.

For every young person who walks into an LG skill training centre, this is more than a course. It is a gateway to confidence, to a first job, to an income that supports a family, to a future they had the ability to build but needed the right support to access.

BACKGROUND & NEED

LG Electronics India Ltd., through its CSR commitment, recognised this opportunity: to invest in India’s youth not just as future consumers but as future employees and to do so through a programme that offers real training, real assessment, and real placement support. SARAS was chosen as the implementation partner for this initiative, given its proven capacity to mobilise, train, and support vulnerable youth across communities.

Without structured skill training, young candidates face a cycle of rejection, informal low-wage work, and missed opportunity. With the right training including retail operations, customer service, communication, grooming, and professional conduct the same candidates become employable, confident, and productive contributors to the workforce.
